Mary Ann York


Mary Ann York, of Ladoga, passed away on November 30 2018, at Franciscan Health East, Lafayette, IN. She was born on August 31, 1949 in Clay County, Tennessee to the late Abe and Clarice (White) Likens. She married Hershel York on April 3, 1967 in Celina, Tennessee, and he survives.

Mary attended school in Tennessee before moving North. She worked as a custodian for New Market School and was a loving housewife and mother.  Her hobbies included yard sales, puzzles and puppies. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Hershel; son, Michael W. York of Ladoga, IN; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Brogan of Crawfordsville, IN; grandchildren, Brittney York, and Kaylee, Kaitlyn, and Jacob Brogan; siblings, James “Buddy” Likens, Ancel Likens, Lovie Jane York, Arlene McLerran, and Johnny Likens. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and her beloved puppy Freckles.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Faye Gentry and a brother, Lonnie Likens

There are no public services scheduled for Mary at this time.
