Bertie Lou (Robinson) Davis

Bertie Lou (Robinson) Davis, 79, of Roachdale/Barnard passed away on July 12, 2019 at St Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, IN.  She was born on June 8, 1940 to the late Andy and Percilla (Hubbard) Robinson in Connersville, IN.  She married John W.  Davis  on August 26, 1957 in Greencastle, IN. He survives.

Bertie graduated from Roachdale High School with the class of 1958.  She was a self employed beautician, owning for years The Barnard Beauty Shop.  She was also an instructor for the House of James Beauty College in Crawfordsville. She worked as a kitchen manager for elementary schools in Gulfport, Mississippi, and later retired from the Hendricks County Jail where she worked as the kitchen manager.  She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in North Salem. Bertie loved animals especially her beloved Abby dog and gardening.  She dearly loved her grandchildren, and devoted her time to making them happy.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Davis, daughter Pamela Jo (Connely) Cox, of North Salem, and son, James Mitchell (Shelly) Davis of Cloverdale, grandchildren, Amy Davis, Andrew (Izzy) Davis, Emily Davis, Matthew (Danyelle) McKnight, Rebecca (Christopher) Gee, Kevin (Sarah) Kolcheck, Rachel Kolcheck, Derek Davis, Kurt Davis, Troy Davis, and Jake Davis, Ten Great-grandchildren, brother, Wayne Robinson, sister, Carolyn RobinsonTaylor and brother, Roy Robinson.

Bertie was preceded in death by her; Parents and son John Michael Davis, siblings, Earl Robinson, Leonard Robinson, Velma Broughton, Betty Lanham, Robert “Bob” Robinson, Donald Robinson, and James Robinson.

You are invited to visit with the family on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home 102 E. Washington Street, Roachdale, IN 46172 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM. Burial will be immediately following at Roachdale Cemetery.
